I recently started a project to shine a light on local charities. I know through out Covid everyone was struggling so much that giving time or money to charity was not a priority. Which is completely understandable. However, the need for the charities did not go away. Actually the need grew during this time. So to bring attention to the local charities that need help and support right now I asked three women to share charities they love.
Christin Allphin is the Executive Vice President for Woodforest National Bank in the Woodlands. She chose to highlight American Heart Association, Montgomery County Food Bank, New Danville and Yes to Youth. She wrote a full article that you can read in Gorgeous Magazine.
Kathy Silva-Igerich also contributed to my project and chose to highlight Canopy. Canopy is a resource and haven for cancer survivors. She volunteers her time there because it is a place she truly believes in.

The third Woman in my project is Amber Sheer. Amber is the Special Event Coordinator at Truluck’s The Woodlands. She talked about her involvement in Interfaith of the Woodlands, Yes to Youth and The Will Herndon Research Fund.
Overall I am blown away by the heart of these women. I feel strongly that it is important to support our local community through charities. I feel honored that I could be apart of them sharing their story and highlighting the community.
