I consider myself an artist. However, when I got my degree I chose to get a photography degree as a Bachelor of Science instead of a Bachelor of Art. For the main reason, I didn’t want to be forced to take a drawing class where I had to draw a hand. LOL But I did however minor in art history because I have a great appreciation for art. All kinds of art have inspired my work over the past few years.
More recently I have dove into the world of body painting. I have been fortunate enough to have some very talented friends that both inspire me and guide me.
One of the things I love about doing body painting is that it lines up with all my beliefs about women and loving our bodies already. Any woman, any age, any size can be art! There doesn’t have to be a reason for it. It can be deeply meaningful or it gets to be frivolous and fun! It is a way to celebrate life, celebrate your body, and create a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The energy in the room while I am painting is always exciting, a little nervous, but always fun!
The other thing I love about body painting is that no two paints are ever the same. Each one evolves from my ideas and my client’s ideas. The art that is made is so unique that there will never be anything like it again. My clients walk away with canvases and prints to put on the walls that remind them how beautiful they are but also how adventurous they are. They create memories and stories that are fun to tell. Some of them opt for art in their home that is anonymous and none of their friends would know it was them in the nude. While other clients are so proud of the experience they want to share it with the world.
